This Is Not Investment Advice

The Market Right Now - Drones

Drones and “investing in drones” is another one of those areas where investors need to be very careful and cautious in my view. The category sounds exciting and we see and hear things going on in the world that imply we will see more Drones in the future. All of that may be true, but the market is not a kind little old lady sitting at the bus stop offering you a home made cookie she made that morning.

Stop Drowning In AI Information Overload

Your inbox is flooded with newsletters. Your feed is chaos. Somewhere in that noise are the insights that could transform your work—but who has time to find them?

The Deep View solves this. We read everything, analyze what matters, and deliver only the intelligence you need. No duplicate stories, no filler content, no wasted time. Just the essential AI developments that impact your industry, explained clearly and concisely.

Replace hours of scattered reading with five focused minutes. While others scramble to keep up, you'll stay ahead of developments that matter. 600,000+ professionals at top companies have already made this switch.

All that said - I like the category and its relation to the broader ‘Melt Up’ in general. Like with Uranium, Rare Earths, Quantum, and perhaps soon to be Space . . . . . . the market can take you on some wild rides along the way. Let’s see if/how we can position ourselves or if we should even care at all about Drones.

Listed below are what the market perhaps considers to be the “Top Drones Stocks” at the moment:

AVAV

KTOS

RCAT

ONDS

NOC

BA

These are not all on our Watch List. Will get to that. First let’s identify the Industry Groups from which we will build and manage our Watch List:

Aerospace/Defense

Computer Software - Special Enterprise

Electrical - Power/Equipment

Energy - Alternative/Other

Before getting into the plays - worth noting that AVAV (perhaps the “top drone stock” to some at this time) recently missed the market’s projections on guidance and the stock has come down very significantly (also dragging down some drone ecosystem plays).

Here are the four plays we will focus on at this time for attempting to capture whatever the ‘Melt Up’ is willing to give us as it pertains specifically to drones:

AMPX

AMPX Weekly

SES

SES Weekly

ONDS

ONDS Weekly

RCAT

RCAT Weekly

Extra Play - Private Markets

An American manufacturer of Drones is making some progress. They started with Drones for agricultural use but might find themselves also eventually supplying the Department of War given recent changes in U.S. policy. Find more here.

Thoughts and observations:

  • Already have exposure to AMPX . . . . . sold all profits and more and keeping smaller load currently . . . . . senses still telling me right place at the right time . . . . . . getting bit beaten’ up when market flipped October along with top drone stock and Industry Group tumbled . . . . will be adding . . . . .

  • Overall seeking plays that cross potentially the entire Drone spectrum and/or into other areas . . . . . things that supply Drones and feed/service the industry as a whole rather than a big bet on just one manufacturer . . . . .

  • ONDS spread its bets out and RCAT is on the water as well as up in the air . . . . SES serves land and air clients . . . .

  • Can clearly see above major swings in Price and Volume . . . . . ¾ currently below 10 Week EMA . . . . along with my overall posture am approaching with patience and caution . . . . . .

  • Will likely end up Long all of these all else equal but not rushing . . . . . 75% of stocks follow the overall market trend . . . .

  • In my humble opinion my senses are pushing me towards this sector when viewing with an open mind and looking at a very longer term view on the Highest of Higher Time Frames . . . . . yes I like Drones overall bigger picture . . . . . .
