This Is Not Investment Advice

The Market Right Now - Private Markets

Here is one trading privately and open to the public that I am willing to entertain. As I stated previously . . . . my stance towards early investments or “startups” has evolved. This one fits what I am ideally looking for.

Full Disclosure: I first invested in December of 2020. I just added again.

Let’s check it out.

World Record Strength. Eight Government Contracts. Limited Shares.

A Guinness World Record sounds like a novelty, but it served as clear validation of the strength and real-world capability of RISE Robotics's technology

Their Beltdraulic™ system set the record for the strongest robotic arm prototype ever built, demonstrating performance that is relevant across many sectors.

The arm is key to modernizing Munition Handling Units used by the Air Force, which recently awarded RISE a $3M contract. This is RISE’s 8th contract - a result of delivering successfully on past awards.

The company has raised over $27M and just opened up a limited allocation of shares to retail investors.

Thoughts and observations:

  • Sharing this here . . . . . EMPHASIS there is NO LIQUIDITY . . . . . yes I realize even StartEngine.com enables secondary sales . . . . . from my perspective there is no liquidity for the foreseeable future here . . . .

  • That said . . . . this particular opportunity is such that I am not seeking liquidity here anytime soon . . . . . willing to give the firm capital because THEY have this business building in their hands and I do not . . . . meaning with this piece of capital I literally want to give them a chance to do so much more with it than I could potentially within this context . . . . . I’m swinging for the fences intentionally . . . .

  • I’m happy with the progress and acknowledge the company is taking a firmly deliberate approach focusing on very long term shareholder value . . . . DARPA . . . . U.S. Air Force . . . . . significant progress with the U.S. Army . . . . . . hey they have $30M in cash not too shabby for a startup . . . .

  • Interest earned on the cash paid 40% of the General and Administrative costs in 2025 . . . . so who’s the dummy going too slow?

  • I like the current tactic of connecting this funding to the Army SBIR program . . . . more non-dilutive funding . . . .

  • Here’s why I dove in back in 2020 and am staying for however long it takes to reach full value ideally . . . . no change to the combustion engine in over a century . . . . one engine . . . . drones . . . . eVTOL . . . . Army equipment . . . . landscaping equipment . . . . maritime . . . . EVs . . . . . anywhere that a more compact power solution makes sense . . . . . PLUS a platform to design new engines for specific large clients . . . . . my vision is they ultimately design and collect licensing fees and royalties . . . . . .

  • I have NO IDEA if they will ultimately pull this off or if it pivots slightly or a lot . . . . this thing could completely fail it is possible . . . . but it hits what I ideally want which is getting to the CORE of the ecosystem and extracting the value from there . . . . . like with my drones example where I don’t want to buy Ford and fight GM, Porsche, Mercedes, and Toyota for decades . . . . rather own the ENGINE itself and sell it to everyone . . . .
