The Market Right Now: Robotics

China Tech is one of the potential areas which could create chasing. Some Wall Street firms (with reports and insight published on Zerohedge.com) are already trying to generate action with China Tech. Another area potentially ripe for max hype and possible chasing is Robotics.

I’m including SpaceX here because it’s completely obvious they will not only merge with Tesla but try to M&A their way into their valuation. SpaceX is in effect via proxy a Robotics company now.

Let’s compare SpaceX to two Small Caps in the Robotics space.

Thoughts and observations:

  • Using the comparison table here on Price/Sales not as a timing mechanism or even as a decision factor . . . . simply want to present something that is easy to compare, ingest, and understand . . . . valuation multiples are not appropriate for timing or deciding when to enter or exit in my humble opinion . . . . Price/Sales though is a blunt and clear cut metric that in this instance shows an enormous disparity between SPCX and these other two stocks . . . . SPCX currently trades at almost 100x its TTM revenue which is truly astonishing and preposterous in my view . . . .

  • Average Price/Sales in S&P 500 is around 3x . . . .

  • I do however find Price/Sales useful in a few ways one is managing your expectations if you are looking to build a position and hopefully hold it for an extended time . . . . if one can find true winners that go on big runs it may be prudent to consider a starting point with relative valuation . . . . in other words to catch a nice one over several months or a few or more years one of the things that tends to contribute to gains is multiple expansion . . . . if my starting point is 100x sales then the stock will need to truly be an epic moonshot once in a lifetime miraculous Play if I am going to successfully ride it from 100x sales to 200x sales and so on . . . . not my type of Play . . . .

  • SPCX . . . . my posture . . . . not Long . . . . if SPCX goes from trading at 100X sales to 200X sales while also rising even more than that . . . . then I’ll watch from the sidelines and possibly benefit from Planet Labs (and other Space Plays) doing a 5x during that same time . . . . meaning if SPCX skyrockets it is highly likely the market is also moving Planet Labs for whatever the reasons may be at that particular time . . . . so I’m holding with the Space Plays as is plus finding new ones . . . .

  • OUST . . . . my posture . . . . on my Watch List . . . . holds some nice cards with the lidar sensors feeding robotics . . . . a bit wild and wide trading ranges last couple weeks trying to explode up off of 10 EMA Weekly but retreating back a bit . . . . I’m monitoring . . . . Industry Group has been extremely helpful to OUST recently and currently . . . . intriguing but not chasing will be patient and consider adding incrementally from hopefully attractive entries . . . .

  • KRKNF . . . . my posture . . . . holding and have been adding . . . . entered years ago and up substantially here . . . . Industry Group AeroSpace/Defense got crushed last few months and that action and sluggish overall for KRKNF during this time . . . . officially absorbed the acquisition and put out guidance for 2026 of $300Mish in revenue . . . . still appears to me in the driver’s seat for subsea intelligence and power and robotics and wherever else that takes them . . . . obviously a bit out of favor with the market Right Now . . . . continued chop and consolidation is entirely possible and perhaps an opportunity depending on your time frame mindset and expectations . . . . might not move meaningfully until it reclaims 10 EMA Weekly and the Industry Group (or at least Small Defense tech) shows much better Relative Strength . . . .

  • 75% of stocks follow the overall market trend . . . . seeking Industry Groups that are rising, performing well, and/or holding up . . . . stocks showing the best Relative Strength . . . . RS in an absolute sense yes but RS improving pattern is also very intriguing . . . . very strong preference for very high Accumulation/Distribution Ratings and Up/Down Volume well above 1.00 . . . . can’t be a mile above 21 EMA Daily for my potential entry . . . . not easy . . . . nothing is for free . . . .
